AV80R Handheld and AV8OR ACE GPS Release Notes for Software Update 02/01
AV8OR Handheld:
Airport Diagrams
FAA Airport Diagrams for the U.S. have been added to the AV8OR handheld (charts subscription required). A subscription to the
Airport Diagrams is available from Seattle Avionics (www.seattleavionics.com/av8or). Once subscribed, an automatic charts
download utility called the “Data Manager” will need to be installed on your home computer. The data manger will automatically
download Airport Diagrams and update your AV8OR any time that it is plugged into your PC via the USB cable.
In order to view an Airport Diagram, you can either select “Taxiway” from the Main Menu, or you can select “Airport Diagram” from
the “More Info” screen for any selected airport.

The aircraft icon is displayed on the airport diagram, based on the aircraft’s GPS position.
The Airport Diagram Page displays the complete FAA Airport Diagram, including any communication frequency information,
Caution notes and runway altitude information. The “Rotate” button may be used to rotate the airport diagram into an orientation
suitable for reading the appropriate information.
In addition, a “Quick View” button is available to quickly move the view to a specific section of the Airport Diagram. In the above
example, the button is titled “TOP LEFT”. However, the option will change to each of the four corners of the map in sequence as
the button is pressed. The “FULL SCREEN” button may be selected at any time to return to the complete Airport Diagram view.
Please note that Airport Diagrams are only available for airports that the FAA has published diagrams available.
