My Visit to
The Peoria Riverfront Museum’s
Giant Screen Theatre
I am going to The Peoria Riverfront Museum today.
We are going to see a movie in the giant screen theatre!
I will walk through the parking deck or enter through
the front doors of the museum to go inside.
There are lots of things to see at the museum.
Today we are going to see a movie!
We might not see the exhibits and planetarium today.
We can come back another day!
When we get to the museum, I will stay close
to my own family or group.
We will go to the welcome desk and buy our movie tickets.
If I forgot a sensory support, I can ask to borrow one!
The museum can let me borrow what I need to enjoy the movie:
Headphones if it is too loud
Sunglasses if the screen is too bright
Fan if I need moving air
Fidgets to keep my body still
Wiggle cushion to stay in my seat
When the movie is over, I will give these back to the museum.
After my group gets our tickets, we will go to the theatre.
We might get a snack or a drink at the concessions stand.
If we do not, that is ok!
I might have to wait in line to get my food.
We will go into the giant screen theatre.
I will pick out my seat with my group and wait for the movie to start.
We might watch a preview before our movie starts.
It will be a little dark in the theatre.
It might get more dark before the movie starts.
If I forgot my sensory support or decide I need one, I can ask for help.
I can go back to the front desk or ask anyone with this badge to help me.
When the movie starts, I will stay in my seat.
I will try to stay quiet.
If I do need to move or get excited and make noise, that is ok!
This movie is for me!
When the movie is over, it might be time to leave.
I had a great day at The Peoria Riverfront Museum!
