PC 832 Arrest, Search and Seizure is a 40-hour course designed to satisfy the requirement
for Peace Officers, identified in Section 832 of the Penal Code. Topics include: professional
orientations, justice system, knowing your community, law, laws of evidence and arrest,
investigation, use of force and arrest and control.
Because this course is designed to provide practical hands-on training in police tactics and
weapon usage, participants in this course will engage in physically demanding classroom
training exercises that include a risk of injury to the participant.
This course satisfies the arrest, search, and seizure requirement for peace officers as
defined in section 832 of the California Penal Code. Topics include professionalism, ethics,
the criminal justice system, policing in the community, laws of evidence and arrest,
investigation, cultural diversity/discrimination, use of force, and arrest and control. This
course is Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified. Pass/No
Pass only.
Important Note: As this is a P.O.S.T Certified, Basic Law Enforcement Course,
attendance is legislatively mandated (students cannot miss any hours in this class by
law). On the first day of class, students are required to arrive at 7:30am in order to
complete the registration process and avoid impeding instructional time. Late students
who miss this process will not be allowed to attend the course.

All students must submit a Medical Clearance letter/form prior to the start of the course, and
must be 18 years of age or older. Clearance letters must be no older than 90-days prior to the last
day of the class.

30 hours lecture, 10 hours laboratory, 60 hours out-of-class work, for a total of 100
student learning hours.

c) If you are new to the OpenCCC website, you will need to create an account. Please write
down your username and password as you may need it in the future. If you are a returning
user, please log in with your username and password
d) Once you're done creating an account or signing in, click on "
start a new application"
e) This will take you to the application you need to complete in order to obtain your Student
ID#
f) Include SID# in the Registration and Payment form.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to fill out the date in the box that says "When did you start
your present stay in California?" If you were born in California, please enter your date
of birth. Leaving it blank on the application for admissions will automatically make
you an out of state resident and you will be charged out of state tuition fees
*Save each page as you complete it so all of the information that you have entered
will be saved in case you are timed out
