Airport Transportation From O’Hare Airport, call Continental
Air Transport/Airport Express bus (312.454.7799). The 303
Cab Company (847.256.0303) and Norshore Cab Association
(847.864.7500) oer set rates of about $35 to campus. From
Midway Airport, cab rates are about $55 to campus.
Please make sure the cab driver knows you are going to Foster and
Sheridan in Evanston.
Train (Union Station) Amtrak (800.872.7245) trains stop at
Union Station in downtown Chicago. Walk four blocks north on
Canal Street to catch the Chicago & Northwestern line of the Metra
commuter train (312.322.6777) to Davis Street in Evanston, or
walk seven blocks east to catch a CTA “El” train under State Street
(downtown Chicago).
Public Transportation (“El”) Take a Red Line (Howard) train
north, transfer at Howard Street to an Evanston (Purple) train.
The CTA rapid transit system stops at the Foster Street station in
Evanston. Walk two blocks east to the Jacobs Center.
By Auto Due to very limited parking, we encourage
visitors to use alternate means of transporation.
From Chicago Take Lake Shore Drive north. Where Lake
Shore Drive ends at the Sheridan Road and Hollywood Avenue
intersection, turn right to go north on Sheridan. Take Sheridan
north for ve miles, following the green-and-white “Sheridan Road
– Lake Michigan Circle tour” signs posted where Sheridan bends.
(Note that Sheridan Road trac in Evanston travels north on Forest
Avenue for a few blocks.) Follow “Once you’re on campus” (below).
From O’Hare International Airport Follow outbound trac
to get on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) north and follow the “To
Milwaukee” signs. Exit at Dempster east. At Potter Road (the rst
stoplight), turn left and follow Porter north one-half mile to Golf
Road. Turn right at Golf and travel east about 10 miles to reach
Evanston, where Golf becomes Emerson Street. Where Emerson
ends at Sheridan Road, turn left to go north on Sheridan. Follow
“Once you’re on campus” (below).
From Midway Airport Turn left out of the airport to go north on
Cicero Avenue. Travel north for two miles to get on the Stevenson
Expressway (I-55). Take I-55 north to Lake Shore Drive. Refer to the
“From Chicago” directions (above).
From the north on the Edens Expressway (I-94) Exit at U.S. 41
south and continue south to Lake Avenue (the second stoplight).
Turn left onto Lake and travel east for three miles to reach Sheridan
Road. Turn right to go south on Sheridan and follow the green-and-
white “Sheridan Road – Lake Michigan Circle Tour” signs posted
where Sheridan bends. Follow “Once you’re on campus” (below).
From the north on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) At Deereld,
I-294 splits. Follow the “To Chicago” signs to get on the Edens
Expressway (I-94). Exit at U.S. 41 south. Refer to the “From the north
on the Edens Expressway” directions (above).
From the south on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) Exit at
Dempster east. Refer to the “From O’Hare International
Airport” directions (above).
From the south on the Edens Expressway (I-94) Exit at
Dempster east. Travel east for ve miles on Dempster to reach
Chicago Avenue in Evanston. Turn left to go north on Chicago,
which merges into Sheridan Road just north of the intersection of
Chicago and Clark Street. Follow “Once you’re on campus” (below).
Once you’re on campus All incoming directions (above) lead to
Sheridan Road, the main street through Northwestern’s Evanston
campus. On the opposite page is a campus map with the Kellogg
facilities highlighted in red. The Kellogg School’s academic facilities
are accessed from Sheridan Road. The McManus Living-Learning
Center is just south of campus on Orrington Avenue in the Evanston
business district. If you drive, please ask the department you are
visiting for a one-day Northwestern University parking permit.
