DNAP Admission Requirements
The TCU School of Nurse Anesthesia program participates in the Nursing Centralized Application Services
(NursingCas). An application fee will be collected by NursingCas.
Applicants meeting the following criteria will be considered for admission:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or an appropriate bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited
school or college in the United States.
o Prerequisite science courses for application to DNAP program:
1. Anatomy and Physiology I (or its equivalent)
2. Anatomy and Physiology II (or its equivalent)
3. Microbiology
4. Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry (at least one course in a
Chemistry is required for admission).
o These science courses are within most undergraduate bachelor’s degrees. If any of
these courses have not been taken or included as part of an applicant’s
undergraduate degree, the course(s) must be taken prior to consideration for
admission.
o Prerequisite courses must be taken at regionally accredited US schools or universities.
Portage Learning is accredited as a secondary school. Portage Learning coursework is
not accepted for the prerequisite course requirements.
• Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse
• Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores
o All applicants must submit GRE test scores taken within the last five years.
o Applicants must request GRE scores from the test center to be sent directly to
NursingCAS using score report code 4373.
o Scores must be received by NursingCAS before the program application deadline May
15.
o The minimum GRE scores are:
▪ Quantitative reasoning 150
▪ Verbal reasoning 150
▪ Analytic writing 3.5
o Applicants with a master’s degree must submit official GRE scores of tests taken
within the last 5 years.
• The GRE score report code for the TCU School of Nurse Anesthesia is 4373.
• Overall weighted GPA ≥ 3.0, math and science courses GPA ≥ 3.0, and last 60 hours of coursework
GPA ≥ 3.0.
• A minimum of one year of experience in critical care; two years are recommended.
