Screencast-o-matic
Using the tool online without download:
• Go to https://screencast-o-matic.com/screen_recorder. The app should
automatically load.
• Allow access if the browser asks for it.
To download the tool instead:
• Go to https://screencast-o-matic.com/download
• Click “Download Install” to download the program.
• Afterwards, you have to execute the downloaded file to install Screencast-o-matic.
• Open Screencast-o-matic.
Using Screencast-o-matic:
• Once the program started, you can define the size of the section of your screen you
want to record. Usually, it is best to record the entire screen.
• To start the audio recording, search for the microphone symbol or the button
“narration”.
• After you have checked all the settings, click the red button called “Rec”. A
countdown will start and then the recording of your screen begins.
• Perform the test and keep in mind that the viewer should be able to trace your clicks
and that you articulate your thoughts clearly and loudly.
• If for some reason you need to pause your recording, click the icon. You also
have the opportunity to reject ( garbage can symbol), or save your recording
(“Done”).
• The next step is to save your recording as a video file. Do not publish the video
online because that is a violation of our terms and conditions.
AZ Screen Recorder
• Search the Google Play Store for “AZ Screen Recorder - No Root” or go to
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.screenrecorder.free
• Download the app and open it
• The camera symbol on the edge of your screen is the menu. You can use it to
control the app.
• Check the settings (gear symbol) whether the sound is being recorded. Activate the
option „Show touches“, so the viewer can see where you pressed.
• Use „Record“ to start the video.
• To stop the video, drag down the notifications bar and press „Stop“
• You can edit (e.g. cut) the video immediately.
• The file is saved in your device’s video folder. You can upload it from there to the
Nest.
iOS: Screen recording feature (iOS 11 and newer)

• Make sure your Apple device has iOS 11 or newer
o If not, you have to update your device. Otherwise you cannot use this tool.
• Open the settings and tap on the menu „Control Center“
• Press „Customize Controls“
• Add „Screen Recording“ to your control center by pressing the green + Symbol
• To start or stop a screen recording, swipe from the bottom of the screen to open the
control center.
• To start recording, tap on the button. There will be a 3 second countdown
until your whole screen will be recorded.
• A red bar at the top of the screen shows that the screen is being recorded.
• To stop the recording, either tap on the red bar and select “Stop”, or open the
control center and tap the screen recording symbol again.
• Screen recordings are saved in the Photos app.
